Fresh Perspective for Restaurants
I sat on a panel tonight called Food Tech 2012. A bunch of really interesting startups talking about the fast evolving world of restaurant tech. At one point I asked the audience for a show of hands- who works in or for a restaurant?
No one raised their hand.
60 people on a cold, rainy night to hear from a bunch of restaurant tech companies and not one actually worked for a restaurant. This is great. People from the general tech and marketing communities interested in restaurants. That’s a lot of fresh perspective and talent.
The panel was similar- none of us actually came from restaurants (though plenty of other related experience). A very cool evening, very encouraging.
